Age Requirements

Age is determined as at 31 December 2017

Minimum age for competition is 40 years

Participation Fees

Games Entry Fee:

$99 per person or $88 per person for people aged 70+

(the above entry fees will increase to $126.50 and $115.50 respectively as at 12 August 2017)

Please note: a $9.00 service fee is payable per person at the time of submitting your registration.

Number of Participant Requirements

Minimum number of participants required to conduct competition: 150 participants across all age groups and events.

Minimum number of participants required to conduct age groups: 60

Any age group that does not have a minimum of 60 participants will be combined with another age group.

Additional Information

  • All races will be conducted over 250 metres.
  • 20’s teams will consist of a minimum of 18 people (16 paddlers, 1 drummer, 1 sweep) and a maximum of 27 people (20 paddlers, 1 drummer, 1 sweep, 1 coach/manager and 4 reserve paddlers).
  • 10’s teams will consist of a minimum of 12 people (10 paddlers, 1 drummer, 1 sweep) and a maximum of 15 people (10 paddlers, 1 drummer, 1 sweep, 1 coach/manager and 2 reserve paddlers).
  • Women’s teams – drummer and the sweep must be female – drummer can be of any age (over 12 years) but the sweep must be in the correct age group
  • Mixed teams – A crew must contain a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 6 women for a 10’s team and a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 12 women for a 20’s team.
  • Open teams – may be any combination of men and women. 
  • Paddlers who enter must be a member of a club affiliated with AusDBF.
  • Individual registrations will not be accepted through the registration system. Paddlers must firstly attempt to join with another team/club, but may contact the Sport Organiser for assistance if needed.
  • PFD’s must be worn on Lake Barrington. Paddlers must bring their own PFD.

The competition will be conducted under AusDBF Competition Regulations and Rules of Racing version 4.1
